Six Time Gates.

Six broadcasts. Six gates. One body. Rise · Baseline · Morning Show · Midday Reset · Spotlight · ZALA Hangouts. Each gate is an architectural moment — not a notification, not a task, but a return point. The broadcast is the gate. The gate is the broadcast. The spine of the bot is the spine of the day.

The gates are the architecture the day runs on. Six of them, anchored to circadian biology — not to a clock. Rise at 5am in summer, 6:30am in winter; same gate, different clock time. The gate fires when the body's state changes, not when the hour ticks over.

Each gate is an architectural moment — not a notification, not a task, but a return point. 6 Time Gates v1.1 · canonical

The two-layer architecture · load-bearing

The six gates live in the engine + Superuser layer. The member-facing layer stays at four buckets. This split is non-negotiable.

the architecture
Rise · Baseline · Morning Show · Midday Reset · Spotlight · ZALA Hangouts

The four-bucket model is what the iOS app surfaces, what notifications carry, what the Member's self-reporting maps to. The Member never sees the word "gate." The six engine gates fire inside the four Member buckets:

  • Morning bucket contains Rise · Baseline · Morning Show
  • Anytime / Afternoon bucket contains Midday Reset · Spotlight
  • Evening bucket contains ZALA Hangouts

Why the split matters: Member UX stays simple — four buckets is what the iOS app already ships. Engine complexity earns its keep — the six-gate cadence runs in the rules engine where it produces clinically meaningful state distinctions. The Superuser operates in the rich layer; their portal shows gate-aware reports, gate-keyed coaching templates, gate-bound workouts.

The six gates · with circadian anchors

Gate 01
Rise
Pre-dawn · ~04:30

The differentiator phase. Cortisol awakening response begins; angular sunlight; the window most people sleep through. For those who claim Rise, the entire day runs on a different arc. Awareness. Audit. Intention. Claim the day before the day claims you.

Gate 02
Baseline
Early morning · ~05:30

Ten questions. The state, recorded. Cortisol continues to rise; sympathetic activation. The body is primed for the day's first signal. Member-decentralized. Broadcast-centralized.

Gate 03
Morning Show
Morning · 07:00–11:30

Peak alertness window #1 (~9–11am for most chronotypes). Cortisol stable-high. Cognitive work is at its sharpest. Vibe push. Roster. The work, named.

Gate 04
Midday Reset
Midday · 11:30–14:30

Pre-meridian energy dip approaching. Insulin response needs fuel. Live sessions, rep by rep. The body returns to itself.

Gate 05
Spotlight
Sunset · 14:30–19:00

Peak alertness window #2 (~3–5pm) followed by parasympathetic shift. The body transitions from doing to digesting. Mad Scientist. Deep work. Build. The day's center of gravity moves from action to integration.

Gate 06
ZALA Hangouts
Night · 19:00 → sleep

Melatonin onset. Sleep pressure builds. The day closes; consolidation begins. Recovery. Ingest. Camera on. Sleep encodes what the day taught.

The shape · 3 + 3

Three morning beats (Rise · Baseline · Morning Show) plus three afternoon-evening beats (Midday Reset · Spotlight · ZALA Hangouts). Symmetric. Each half-day has Activate · Action · Integrate.

The day mirrors the week: seven chapters total — six gates inside plus the day-as-container as the seventh frame. The week is built the same way: six active days plus the seventh as the container day of integration. The fractal closes at every scale.

The broadcast is the gate

The six gates and the six broadcasts are the same six rungs of the spine — one name from the body's side, one from the channel's. The body fires Gate 01 at the cortisol awakening. The channel airs Rise at the same moment. Same rung. Two names. One describes the physiology; the other describes what the institution sends through it. The spine of the bot is the spine of the day.

Six gates produce seven phases — Dawn · Morning · Midday · Afternoon · Sunset · Evening · Night — with the day-as-container as the seventh frame. Seven would lose the symmetry; six creates the 3+3 structure that mirrors the body's diurnal split and the week's own 6+1 cadence. Six gates inside the day plus the day-as-container equals seven chapters total.

Why this is universal

The six-gate cadence reflects universal solar biology — anchored in the sun's position and the human circadian rhythm. Cortisol awakening response, dual peak alertness windows (well-documented in chronobiology literature), post-noon glucose dependence, melatonin onset at nightfall. None of this is culturally coded. It is how the human body moves through any solar day on Earth.

Distinctions

  • This is not the same as fixed clock-hour gates. The exact time of each gate shifts with the season + the Member's chronotype + their geography.
  • This is not five plus one bonus. It is six interlocking gates with the day-as-container as the seventh frame.
  • This is not prescriptive for everyone. Some Members will practice Rise-Baseline-Reset-Hangouts only; others all six. The framework contains the practice; the practice is the Member's.
  • This is not what the Member sees on the iOS app. The Member sees the four buckets (Anytime · Morning · Afternoon · Evening). The six gates are engine-internal.
