The State Vector.
Five dimensions. One vector. Every member has a live state described by five values: Flag, Pathway, Gate, Affect, and Direction. The product is not the drop, the matrix, or the calendar — the product is the measured delta between current state and intended state.
Every wellness app on earth ships content and hopes the user feels better. ZALA does the inverse: it measures what state the user is in, decides what state would serve them, selects the intervention with the highest historical efficacy for that specific transition, ships it, and measures whether the transition occurred.
State is the key.
The drop is the move.
The delta is the product. State-Change Logic v1
The product is not the drop, the matrix, or the calendar. The product is the measured delta between a member's current state and the state they intended to be in. Vibe Drops are not content. They are the intervention vehicle.
The five dimensions
Every member's live state is a five-dimensional tuple. The engine refreshes the vector four times daily via the Time-Gated Intelligence events.
What each dimension does
- Flag — the universal state self-report. Blue = aligned and ready. Yellow = slightly off, support needed. Red = stuck, in pain, or overwhelmed. Drives every classifier. Member self-flag is honored even when objective signals read otherwise.
- Pathway — which lane the member is operating in. Pro athletes, youth athletes, and lifestyle operators get different defaults but share the same engine.
- Gate — which of the five time-gates the day is in. Determines what kind of intervention is appropriate at this moment.
- Affect — emotional/autonomic register. Calm vs. wired is autonomic. Anxious vs. blank is cognitive. The engine reads both.
- Direction — where the member's attention and energy are pointed. Inward (recovery, focus, depth). Outward (engagement, work, social). Scattered (no clear vector).
The brand wants to move members toward INWARD before OUTWARD. Toward CALM before WIRED. Toward BLUE before the RED stays RED. Doctrine · the inside-arrow
Three named anchors
The state vector lives inside a larger object structure. Three named anchors hold the system together:
- My Zala. The central per-member intelligence object. Holds the current state, the last-day carry-forward, the classifier outputs, and the confidence numbers. Refreshed by four Time-Gated Intelligence events: TG-01 Nightly Close · TG-02 Morning Baseline Submit · TG-03 9 AM Fallback · TG-04 Report writeback. The single source of truth.
- Blueprint. The intended structure of a member's life. Rise target, sleep target, 1RM anchors, pathway, priorities. Stable; updates only on Superuser-led intent change. The intended state the engine pulls toward — not a moving average.
- Delta. The measured difference between the current state and the intended state. The product is the delta. Every Vibe Drop is judged by whether the delta closed.
How it runs
The engine watches the vector. The matrix routes the drop. The Superuser ships, edits, or rejects. The next vector is sharper because the last one was labeled. The reinforcement loop runs through the human.
This is what separates ZALA from a recommendation engine. The labeler is real, vetted, accountable. The supervision is clinical-operational, not synthetic. Every send is a piece of training data; every dismiss is a piece of training data; every edit is the most valuable piece of training data of all.
